We need your votes in this year's Consumer Credit Awards
Great Western Credit Union has been nominated for the 'Best Credit Union' (South) award for a second consecutive year at the Consumer Credit Awards run by Smart Money People. The event, which takes place on 23rd September 2021, is decided by customer votes and so we need your help! When you submit your vote, you will be entered into a prize draw where a winner will be selected at random to receive a £1,000 cash prize courtesy of Smart Money People.
Great Western Credit Union is the new name for Bristol Credit Union and the former Wyvern Savings & Loans in Dorset and the community is at the heart of everything we do. With a membership of almost 20,000 people across South West England, we are the region's largest credit union, providing fair and affordable loans and ethical savings accounts which benefit local people and businesses.
Over the past year, we have provided 40 zero interest loans to NHS workers, helping them to improve their financial wellbeing during the height of the pandemic. At GWCU, we endeavor to support the most financially vulnerable people in our communities as 24% of our loan members currently live in the highest levels of deprivation and 11% of members do not have a transactional bank account according to our recent Social Impact Report.

Last year the ‘Best Credit Union’ (South) award was introduced to reward ethical financial institutions that help to improve the financial wellbeing of thousands of people across the South of England. Over 19,000 votes were received at the previous event and the awards have been featured in The Guardian, Spectator Money, Loan Talk, Motor Trader, Credit Connect and CCR Magazine.
How to vote
You have until the 15 August to vote for us.
Voting only takes about two minutes. All you need to do is leave us a review on the Smart Money People website. One lucky voter will also be given the chance to win a £1,000 cash prize from Smart Money People.
The finalists will be announced on 16th August 2021, so keep an eye out for the results. Voting will then re-open until 6 September, with winners revealed on 23 September 2021 at a ceremony in London.
Why do I need a user account to write a review?
To write a review (vote) you will need to sign up for an account or log in to an existing account with Smart Money People.
