Service Update

How we are supporting our members who have been impacted by Covid-19.

The wellbeing and safety of our staff and members remains our priority as the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues. This means we have had to put in place some changes to ensure we continue to help our members and lend responsibly.

Branch and service points

From 24 March our branch will be operating on an appointment only basis. Please help us to keep our staff and members safe by not coming into the branch unless you have made an appointment. We’ll ask you to respect social distancing, and no more than one person will be allowed into the branch at one time.

Remember we are not accepting cash payments or paying out cash in our branch for health and hygiene reasons since 18 Mar 2020. We will continue to accept payments by card.

Our local service points in Bristol, Bath and South Gloucestershire are closed until further notice.

Online services

We encourage you to use our online services where possible. By accessing your account online, you'll be able to:

  • view your account balances
  • request transfers to your bank account or Engage account
  • Drawdown from your Family Finance Plan
  • Apply for a loan

Engage card

If you have an engage card you can continue to use it to pay bills and make purchases online. Please continue to contact the Engage service centre for help with your card and account with them.

Contacting us

We hope that you will be able to carry out everything you need to do online, however if you do have a query you can email us info@bristolcreditunion.org.uk , or call us on 0117 924 7309, between 8.30am-4.30pm. Please bear with us during this busy time, we will speak to you, but it may take a little longer than usual to get through to us.

Loan changes

Please see our separate update about changes we’re making to our lending, and how we can support members who are struggling due to Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Joining Bristol Credit Union

We are still welcoming new members, and we have suspended our membership fees to make it easier to access our services. When you join, we’ll only ask you to deposit £1 to open your account.

Thank you to our members for being patient and understanding during this difficult time.
