We are recruiting a Finance Manager

We are looking for the right person to support the Head of Finance as the Finance Manager.

Salary: The salary for this position ranges from £32,000-£42,000 based on experience

Working Hours: This role is full-time, requiring 37.5 hours per week, within our core hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

The role:The purpose of this job is to support the Head of Finance in managing the finance function, ensuring that financial and member account information is accurate, reports are timely and complete, and forecasts and projections are reliable. As Finance Manager, you'll oversee a high volume of transactions, with the finance team processing 1000+ transactions in and out each day. You'll ensure that members' accounts are accurate and up-to-date, while also managing payments for housing-related projects for local authorities.

 

You should apply if you have: 

  • Full or part qualification through AAT, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent. 

  • Experience in a busy finance role combining transaction processing, account reconciliation and reporting.  

  • Strong attention to detail, good analytical skills and ability to problem solve.  

  • Management skills including the ability to plan work and to prioritise effectively.  

  • Strong commitment to purpose in banking and an ability to articulate this to colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Financial Services experience.  

  • Strong Excel skills.  

  • Experience preparing management information reports.  

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Identifying and supporting efficiency gains aligned with GWCU's strategic plans. 

  • Implementing new ways of working to improve services for members and partners. 

  • Overseeing daily transaction processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness. 

  • Managing all accounting processes, including accounts payable and receivable. 

  • Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Managing stand-alone projects in collaboration with local authorities and partners. 

  • Overseeing monthly payroll, including ensuring that payments to staff, HMRC, pension providers, etc. are paid made and on time.
